I know there is a whole world of software that can log your actions (and those of our opponents) when you play online and provide different information about it. Great.
But, if you are playing in a live situation, is there any simple and easy way to capture the specific details of play in a shorthand that can still be understood later? Perhaps software for the Palm OS? Windows CE-based? iPod? Hell, I'd even settle for an efficient pen-and-paper (old tech) mechanism.
I saw somebody on WPT last night who was writing down every hand they played, so they could "go back to their room each night and study what they did right and wrong." I noticed they DIDN'T do that at the final table -- I guess that would be too embarassing, or maybe they figured it didn't matter any more, and they could watch it on TV in 6 months.
Anyway, I have tried tracking the hands I'm in, but don't have a good shorthand. The charts that Caro uses in TELLS are way too complicated for basic at-table use.
At a minimum, I'd like a shorthand that lets me capture what hand I played, from what position, whether I was first into the pot, if not, who was, whether I raised or limped, callers or raisers after me, the flop, what bets, etc. You see, it gets to be a lot.
Any ideas? |
