Well, if you happened to come across my New Years resolution post - I've come into a dilema with it.
I got back into action on Jan. 5th with that idea in mind, 150$ a day 4x a week. I had a great first few days, hitting my 150$ within the first hour- and doing as planned... hitting and running.
One day, I actually booked 4 wins throughout the day getting myself a bit ahead. Then I did this on another day, and on a 3rd day.
I've been back in action for 9 days now, and I just realized I hit my quota on day 7. (actually going over and then booking a loss and adding it up to see I was 50$ over my monthly GOAL)
So what now?
I want to play, I love to play- sure it's about the money... BUT I JUST LOVE TO PLAY!!! Looking back at last years track record, it truly is a roller coaster, the ups and downs are amazing. Is it even possible to think of a BR that only goes up? I play- put money in my pockets- and do it all over again.... day after day, week after week, month after month....
Do I just set my quota higher? Take a break? Read? Get a job?
I just can't stop thinking about playing, and possibly losing after I've hit my goal and falling just 1$ below what I feel is 'par'.
Maybe none of you really give a damn;) But I'm really stuck here, and I'm trying to be professional about this. I want to be a pro. I want to be the best. And I gotta start somewhere.
I know there are some great minds out there, and I want to hear all of your opinions on how you do this and stay on top- all the time. |

If you hit your goal that easily then maybe you should set the bar a little higher. You want to challenge yourself. But just because you started off very well does not mean that you will every day. It will be hard to even break even a total fish table every time. Sometime the cards just are not hitting you.
Once you hit your limit. YOu could try to play different games. You could try Omaha or 7 card stud. If you play on UB you can play omaha high only PL for $.1-$.2 max buy in $2. 7 Stud also has tables with minimal antes.
If you want to be a professional you should be well rounded and be able to play a variety of games. |

Get a job
Set your quota a little higher, constantly move your targets to help you improve, but don't spend too long at the tables.
Longer you play, the worse you get (in that session), and you can also pick up bad habits. |
