Ok, I've done this COUNTLESS TIMES now.... I sit with around 400$ at the 10/20$ table- and I tell myself at 900$, I WILL WALK AWAY and cash out 500$ profit.

But, to no avail- I don't do it. I get in this horrible mindframe that I'm going to turn this 900$ into 4,000$ and that 4,000-$ into 8,000$. It's just never enough, I always want to keep playing... for HOURS and HOURS and HOURS upon end.

Don't get me wrong, I have before turned that 400$ into 4,000$ (in a 12 hour online session) but that's a very rare occassion. Most of the time I'll turn that 400$ into 750$ and then lose every last cent.

Where do you guys set your limits?

When do you walk away?

Time limit?

Money limit?

And, what if you lose? Do you get up, and just walk out the door if you lose your sitting? OR do you cash back in for more? (I never thought that was a good choice...)

I don't know, I see myself as a very skilled player- but my BIGGEST and deadliest attribute as a player is NEVER KNOWING WHEN TO QUIT.... up or down.

IT's either i'm not up enough, or .... I haven't lost it all yet.

I can never find a good in between.

eeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkk some moral support please? I feel I have a serious problem with this, and it's KILLING me here.... I could have such fatter pockets if I could just get up, and... WALK AWAY.

I don't even know what to tell you, because I am in the same situation. I love to play for hours on end, and I only quit when I'm either falling asleep at the table, or because I'm due back home (curfew with husband is strict).

I guess the only way that I can make myself get up and leave is make my husband give me a curfew when I leave, and then I KNOW I have to be home by then.

what if the game is just getting good? What if I'm only $50 (one pot) away from breaking even, or better yet, doubling my money and getting SOME kind of profit? Then the fact that I have to leave will just stick in my craw.

Anyways...again..I'm in the same boat, don't know what to tell you. I also feel the same way, that if I start with $100 and get to $300 I just KNOW I can get to $1000....yet I've never done it and always end up giving back and leaving even or worse yet, down.

What I find easier, is to cash part of your winnings - say you make $500 profit, cash $250 and continue to play with the rest. Even if you lose the lot, you've bagged yourself $250 and kept it off the table.

I know it's hard to back down, especially when things are going well, but you've got to remember that things can change pretty quickly - so make sure after a good session you've got something to show for it.

In many cases, Gambling can be complicated. Not many people have the will power to walk away before they end up losing what they came with. In my case, I feel its always best to go with a friend, and set a time as to the exact moment you will walk out the door and cash in. If you arive at 5, stay till about 7 and walk away. Depending on the game you are playing, the winnings will rotate around the table. In this case, you should always leave before your time limit, if you notice that the win is switching from you to another user. That way, you will come out either even, or leave with a large amount of cash.

Never thought about that really, sometimes time constraints force me to leave a little early but generally I'm set for the night and head for home or my hotel whenever I've finished really Wink

Not always advisable, especially if you're having a bad night, but normally a few beers outweigh the fact you've lost a couple of hundred in on evening Wink
