This is a NL tournament hand.

300 MTT. Buyin 2000. About 1/4 of the way through the field. You have
1300 to start the hand. Blinds are 100/200. You are in the SB. You get
99. MP(Stack of 4500) raises to 600. It is folded around to you. What
do you do? Call, Raise, Fold.

Does your answer change if you are in the BB or on the Button?

If you know where I stole this scenario from don't flame me as my buddies
are arguing about what to do?

This is a tough scenario. You are fairly short stacked and the 500 call leaves you with 800. If you are going to be in the pot it is going to cost you all of your chips. If you call the bet than you pretty much have to bet the rest after the flop.
My likely play here is to call the bet. When the flop hits I go all in, pretty much regardless of what comes on the board. Hope he didn't hit anything and will go away. Though much of that has to do with what I know of the player. If he is someone who calls alot and is pretty loose I might just fold and hope to get a good hand before the blinds come around again.
The only snag is what is the BB going to do. You don't want the BB in the pot so a re-raise all in before the flop would be good for the fact that you get the BB out of the way.
This is only a 4x raise so I wouldn't put the player on a monster hand but something decent. You are probably against two over and in a race. If you hit it you put yourself in a good situation to start building your stack and 99 is not a bad hand.
This hand has a ton of acceptable plays and so it really comes down to the players at the table and how they play. It also comes down to your table image and how that will affect thier play.

I'd agree - this is your best chance to double up, and with your chips already down and some of those in the pot, a head to head is your best chance to take the hand and get you back into the game.

Call it, and as easyguy suggested, look at going all in. As soon as you call, you're pretty much committing your entire stack to the pot, so it's time to grab your balls and hope the cards come down for you. Even better, would be the other guy folding and letting you take a cheap pot, but with that many chips he can afford to try and bet you out of the game there and then.
