Mmmm, looking at my poker journal today- I saw that the HUGE swings my BR takes is simply amazing.

I play mostly 5/10 - 10/20 and when I'm feeling good I will make a run at the 15/30, and 30/60. Most of my play is online, due to the fact that my home game just isn't up to par money wise(but still significant enough for me to sit and and win some money;)

Anyhow, just within the last two weeks- at one point I was up 6,300$. Just for it to fall to +1,650, and then back up to +2,450.

Do all of your bank rolls take these kind of swings? I am a VERY aggressive player, and I would most definately consider myself a maniac. I can sit at a 10/20$ table and lose 500$ in 30 minutes or turn it into 1,000 in that same amount of time. Really just depends on whom I'm sitting with and if I can get them to lay down hands.

I am a winning player, but the swings my bankroll takes are really driving me crazy. When do I call it quits? Should I set limits like 'When I hit ++ 3,500 I'm quitting- no matter what' Sometimes I just find a table that is TO GOOD to walk from.(Or I get in a mind frame that I cannot be touched- and I will win at the 5/10$- just to go to the 10/20$ and lose what I just won at the 5/10$)

I"ve been struggling with this problem for a long long long long long time now, and from what I see- if I could get this under control, I would have MUCH fatter pockets.

(this post coming from a 1,000$ LOSS in about a 45 minute sitting at the 10/20!!!)

*sighs* That money would have been much better off paying rent!

... I've posted something like this before- I just can't seem to get this under control. All comments are greatly appretiated...

Build the bankroll play higher ans swing wider! really they are going to swing and a lot if you hope around from 5-10 to 30-60. Just like buying inventory in a store you are required to invest it and have it to invest to stay in business. Get used to it.

They will vary wildly if you are an aggressive player - you are likely to win big or lose by similar amounts - 2 or 3 big nights in a row, you're bankroll will be cooking. Two bad nights and all your work might have become undone, that's just how it is.

Mine is a little more stable as I tend to bow out of an evenings play if it looks like a bad night for the cards.
