I really hate to be stupid but I really need someone's help with the following:
In a book about "Texas Holdem" in the section regarding keeping records, he refers to keeping up with you winning by converting it to big bets. To quote him, "Speaking in terms of big bets also makes it easier to compare how your're doing in different games at varying limits"
What is a big bet, is it the number of hands you win?
Also in relation to winnings, what is BB and BB/HOURS and why are they important to track. |

| A big bet is the larger later round bet you can make in limit poker. For instance if you are playing $3/$6 the Big Bet is $6, if you are playing $20/$40 the big bet is $40. |

Thanks quickie. Now we all know the answer to that one.  I've been wondering the answer to that for a long time, but just have been afraid to come out and ask. Sometimes you don't want to feel stupid, ya know? |

| Yeah I'd "known" it for ages, though when I came on here it took a while to make the connection between "BB" and "Big blind" - fairly obvious in retrospect, but Id on't frequent many poker forums so I'm a little new to chatting on a forum medium. |
