The last 2 weeks have been really bad for me. i cant have a hand hold up. i honestly do not think my play is bad. ive really tightened up post flop, and slightly preflop.(definitly fixed a big leak of playing marginal hands out of position). im making lay downs i never would have made a few months ago. i think my play is increasing, but my profit isnt. i really dont know what else i can do.

i guess my question is what should you do when your br is to small for the smallest limits? im playing the 25nl right now and my br is under 10x the buy in. should i buy in for less, should i buy in full, when i double my stack, leave and re buy full again. what are some suggestions, because i cant have a hand hold up for anything. should i drop to limit? small sngs? another game? any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

If you're not willing to rebuy if you go bust then I'd suggest taking a step down. I'm assuming you're playing Party by the lowest limits being 25NL.

If you'd prefer to stick to ring games then I think maybe you should change sites to a site that offers lower limits. There's no shame (well okay maybe there is mentally) in stepping down when things are running bad.

If you want to stay at Party then perhaps try the 5.50 SNG's or even 11 dollar ones.

Things will turn around eventually it's just a matter of time. Hopefully you can wait it out without having to put more into it.

Hope things look better.

Take a deep breath.

Now, get into the .50/1 limit games on Party.

You have a BR that's big enough to withstand the swings and if played properly, will force you to tighten up your game.

Best of luck, this too will pass.

I feel you man. I'm in the midst of a "yick" period myself. Last night alone I lost with A-Q vs. A-3, K-Q vs. 7-2 off (yes, 7-2 off and I did raise PF), 6-6 vs. 4-5 off and some others. The last two weeks it has seemed like no matter what I do, someone has me beat.

My advice to you is don't let superstition get in the way of solid Poker. I think alot of us tend to do that, at least early in anyone's Poker career.

Your mind starts to play tricks on you and you think that a negative expectation is certain because of recent history. Play your hands and make your reads the same way you did before the bad streak. I know it's easier said that done but it's the truth.

These things will happen, but it's what you do and learn from them that make you a better player. Agree on stepping down a level and riding out your bad streak. No need to put any more money out there when you don't have to.

Best of luck steering out of this snag.

well i decided to move my money to Ub. there are some smaller games there where i can drop down in limits and spend time recovering. once i get a big enough roll ill be back to party. i really think this is safer than playing .5 1 limit on party. the swings are brutal. my KK got cracked twice by K3(it wasnt even sooooted) and A6(runner flush) when i tried playing there before. good luck with your bad run

Just try and keep your current game going if you think you are playing correctly. After about 5 or 6 really bad sessions (bad beats), I let my game suffer becuase of it. I became afraid of every hand that the other person might possibly have and cheated myself out of a lot of money. Keep faith in your game, read more and don't become scared money, good luck.
