So I am at a 5/10 NL table and up $2k on my $300 deposit. So I am happy but man is this NL play nerve racking. So check this play and how it cost me a pretty penny:

I am on the button and get dealt pair of 2's

UTG calls
UTG + 1 calls
Me calls
SB folds
BB raises to $100
UTG calls
UTG + 1 calls
Me Call (normally would fold but I'll play $100 with a pot this size)

Flop: K(h) Q(h) 2(h)

Sweet I have trip 2's. But that possible flush is scaring the crap out of me as well as possible K,K .

At least I'm OTB so I should get some insight.

BB bets $100 (has $3k in chips)
UTG goes all in $500
UTG + 1 goes all in for $1,600

Now I was ready to call the $500 but that damn UTG+1 bet to $1,600 pissed me off. I guess I was playing with scared money and there were so many possibilities so I fold.

BB calls the $1,600

So main pot is $900
side pot is $2,100

Ok so I am gone with trip 2's and no more betting since two of three are all in.
remember flop is K(h) Q(h) 2(h)
turn in 9(s)
river is 4(s)

Results:
UTG shows 10(c) J(c) straight wins main pot $900
UTG+1 shows A(h) Q(c) pair kings
BB shows A(c) K(d) pair aces wins side pot $2,100

I can accept UTG's $500 all in with an opened ended straight.

But that UTG+1 all in of $1,600 with middle pair and flush draw really irked me as kudos to him it got me out and cost me the $2,100 side pot. At least I took solice that he went bust.

BB... man I respected that call with high pair and he was rewarded.

Have to remember scared money doesn't make money

because he only had a bankroll of $500 and not $1,600 like the flush draw. Wouldn't he have been better suited to call the $500 and see what 4th street delivered?

I also didn't say I didn't accept the call it just made me mad (mostly at myself for not calling). In essence it was a great call as he got the winning hand (at that time) to fold

Also I had a error in my ending hands as UTG+1 had a pair of Queens not Kings

First of all you should not of played the hand with pocket 2's with that kind of raise, but once you hit your set on that board I would of gone all in. The only thing you have to worry about at that point is a bigger set, which is unlikely. If you were worried about a larger set don't ever play pocket 2's, because that possibility will always be there. Additionally, as you probably know most big no limit pots consist of a made hand vs a draw. I'll take the made hand almost every time, and if I lose so be it.

With 2 people all in in front of you it isn't unreasonable to be worried about someone having made their flush on the flop.
