if you are going to raise... raise the same amount no matter what you are raising with... that way, no one will be able to read your hand...
if you are conservative... raise 2-3XBB... if you are aggressive... raise 4-6XBB...
but raise that amount no matter what... only change it occassionally... just to change it... but don't necessarily make it less with lesser hands... sometimes try a weaker raise with pocket aces... and a slightly bigger raise with a low suited connecters...
but for the most part... make them the same... all the time... |

With 3 limpers already, it would seem to me that you need to make a major move on the pot or fold, because someone behind you will probably do it if you don't. Given that there is already 4.5xBB in the pot, I'd say at least 10x.
Now the question is, which of the hands you mentioned do you really want to make such a move with? |

If you are going to play this hand and it is 10 or less then limp with the rest of them. J 2XBB Q 3XBB K 4XBB
QQ and up
I like 4X the BB depending on the level I'm playing. If playing .25/.50 I will go $4. Only action I want on these hands are heads up. When I slow play them they only cost me money.
small PP
I like to limp.
KJ etc
2X BB
This is just how I would play them. I am sure there are a lot better ways. |

I'm not convinced. I'd still say play conservatively and look at around 3x BB. This is a big enough raise to shake off players with nothing in hand who just want to see cheap cards, without being too big in that you're committed to a hand should someone behind you make a big raise on the pot.
With AA or KK, then I'd look at playing a little more aggressively, maybe 6-7x the BB, but that is only if you have a very good hand. Anything less and you're not playing a very good game from the precentage aspect. It can all change on the flop, so don't get int too deep too early. |
